Posted on: 05/19/11
Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride and Montgomery Gentry are among the acts that have been recruited by the country group Alabama to play at a June 14 benefit in Birmingham, AL, dubbed "'Bama Rising: A Benefit Concert for Alabama Tornado Recovery."
The concert at BJCC Arena also will feature a rare performance by Grammy Award-winning Alabama, which is spearheading the benefit, according to the event website.
"I hope we all can pull together to help get through the worst natural disaster I've ever seen in Alabama," the band's Randy Owen said in a statement. "I believe it's extremely important that we do this benefit. ... I appreciate my friends in country music, everyone that's been involved, and anyone that's helped in any way."
Additional confirmed performers include Sara Evans, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Bo Bice, Luke Bryan, Taylor Hicks and Little Big Town, among others.
Tickets go on sale Friday (5/20). Additional ticket information and a complete lineup is available at the 'Bama Rising website.
