Raise Your Pints Announces Mississippi Craft Beer Week 2010
JACKSON, MS —Raise Your Pints is proud to announce that Governor Haley Barbour has declared the week of July 24 – 31 the first ever “Mississippi Craft Beer Week” (MCBW 2010). "This is part of what we've been working for." says Raise Your Pints President, Butch Bailey. "Our goal is to broaden the appreciation of craft beer for Mississippians and bring better beer to the state”.

Raise Your Pints will be hosting several craft beer events around the state during MCBW 2010 beginning Saturday, July 24 with a Lazy Magnolia Cask Ale Tasting at Keg and Barrel in Hattiesburg and culminating the following Saturday, July 31 with Mississippi’s first ever beer festival, the Top of the Hops Beer Festival in Jackson, MS.
With weeklong celebratory libations planned statewide, Mississippi Craft Beer Week kicks off in Hattiesburg on Saturday July 24 at 7 p.m. Kiln-based Lazy Magnolia, the state’s flagship brewery, will be tapping a single batch, cask-conditioned ale. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, cask-conditioned ales are a throwback to ancient brewing techniques. “Everyone is welcome to attend, so bring a friend,” said Lazy Magnolia representative Sarah Brann. “Pints of this special beer will be limited, so get there early before it runs out.”
