TUSCALOOSA — Except for some details, construction is nearly completed on the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.
During November, workers put in the main seating, and the beginnings of landscaping appeared.
A stretch of Jack Warner Parkway in front was closed for a day to run fiber-optic cable connecting the amphitheater to the rest of the city's network.
Parking lots were paved and painted, and the shuttle driveway, to run to the city's parking deck downtown, was completed.
A few pieces of the project remain to be completed, such as the removable box seats with cushioned boxes and folding armrests, which will arrive in March, in time for the scheduled spring opening. All 40 of the box-seat areas have been sold.
